We received 483 responses to our recent reader survey on controlling staff labor costs. Of these, 60% were from general dentists, 19% from orthodontists, 9% from pediatric dentists, 5% from oral surgeons, 4% from periodontists, 2% from endodontists, and 1% from prosthodontists.

Last month, in "Readers Surveyed On Staff Pay Strategies," we revealed that only 36% of responding doctors gave automatic across-the-board pay raises in 2016. Another 31% followed our advice to limit costs by freezing staff salaries and implementing a bonus plan based on increased practice collections.
