When dieting, most people weigh themselves regularly to benchmark their progress. Shouldn’t you also measure your progress when trying to improve your practice? Here are five practice metrics you should track on a monthly basis to do so.
Practice Production and Collections
These statistics are the most obvious. Every dentist should review their practice production and collections monthly, and compare them to the prior month, as well as the same month of the prior year. Since many practices will have a seasonal flow of patients, or some months that are historically better than others, comparing to the same month in the prior year usually provides a better benchmark of progress than comparing to the prior month.
